Head Teacher's Blog

We were delighted to host Chris Webb, our local MP on Friday 6th June for a tour of the school he attended as a young boy, and to meet some of our Year 6 pupils.
We were able to discuss some of the challenges facing schools at the moment, such as funding and support for children with SEND, and also engage in an excellent discussion around how to drive further improvements to the education system as a whole.
Chris also took some time out to meet some of our children. Our Year 6 pupils were asked to write a series of questions and they did not disappoint. I'm sure Chris might have had an easier time with journalists!
Some of the questions included:-
What is your opinion of Donald Trump?
What's your view on a woman's right to choose and what is happening in America currently?
Did you vote in favour or against the Winter fuel allowance?
How do you help the residents of Blackpool?
Is it a difficult role being an MP?
How are you ensuring children in Blackpool recieve the same opportunties as children elsewhere in the country?
Mr Webb proved extremely adept at answering all questions and I would like to thank him for fitting a vist to our school into an extremely busy schedule. Those pupils who took part in the question and answer sessions really did our school proud - they would all make excellent journalists in the years to come.
